So I have began to think that I should start word press blog. Now I know that niche specific blogs get the traffic and money, however I am concerned I wont be able to have good quality content on a blog like that. I could probably get like 10 quality posts but after that the quality would tank.

Now I have a lot of thing I can write about. Things that I think about all the time and have noticed some of my train of thoughts are pretty interesting. However these ideas I have range from a wide variety of topics . These include sports, politics, history, video games, home improvement, health, movies, film, music, ect.

I am confident that I could write quality posts and hopefully out one out every other day at a minimum.

So lets say that I am able to write a high quality post in an interesting topic every day. Would something like that do well with adsense or does it need to be niche specific.

I know traffic would be a challenge so I would have to rely on social media to get the ball rolling and than hope my posts create a small fanbase.

FYI: Dont know if this matters but the general topic blog would be loads more funner. The niche specific imo would get old after a few months.

    Thought?

I think you'd be surprised how content begets content, every post you write will give you ideas about other things to talk about in the same niche.

But really, niching down is always best. You could always create multiple blog sites if you really want to talk about all different things, maybe with a your name website as the central hub if you wanted recognition for your wide range of knowledge.

yes totally agree. General topics are quite difficult to rank. Choosing a specific niche will simplify the way to get high rankings in Google.

There's a reason niche blogs like you talk about make money. Pick one of the topics that you mentioned like you enjoy writing about the most.

You'll find the more you write the more content you'll get ideas for.

If you're looking for a blog that will last you a long while, no doubt, write about something you enjoy. I gurantee you won't run out of content-rich posts. The more you know, the less you know. You'll have plenty to write about.

I think you would find it really difficult attracting visitors to a general blog. It only takes 1 or 2 things that don't interest them and they are gone. I'd go with a niche specific blog and write great content!

Just go with a couple of blogs, find which ones interest you the most and then write for them. That way you will have variety of readers which would be more interested in a specific niche. Because if you go for a general blog, they probably wouldn't be coming back to the website as they wouldn't see the point as you'd be writing in general topics. Well if you really want to do it, you could go for a news blog, that's one way to attract visitors.
