Like the title says - I have been reading tons and tons of articles and i love reading the [method] articles but i find it soo difficult to follow some conversations because of the vocab that is involved with IM. I finally understood what CPA means and how to work it - which IMO is easier than affiliate marketing.

next step - I am trying to fully grasp the idea of google adwords/adsense.

I have about 7 websites up targeting different niches but no sales yet. the day i get a dollar from IM is the day im treating myself to lobster dinner. :)

To all newbs out there - i am a noob to0. my advice is to stick with it and when you hit a roadbock, treat it as that: a road block. BHW has been a great source for information and i overcome many roadblocks so far only to face many more roadblocks. But when i reach the end of the yellow brick road, it will all be worth it.

i found BHW through search engines and i have been greatfull ever since.
hopefully one day i will be the guy taht gives some complex advice on earning money online . until then, wish me luck!!!

We've all been there and with persistence and courage you will make money.
It's an amazing feeling when you make your first dollars. You have the right attitude, read,
learn, test. At the beginning you will have an information overload if you don't you're
not trying hard enough. You have to find your niche whether affiliate, email, cpa, youtube
cl. Everyone finds what they like and what they are good at. Doesn't mean you can't dabble in the others.
What everyone has to learn is they are on their own. Google is there
and BHW is here however not many people are going to take their time
    and give it to you.
Don't expect overnight success but follow a proven formula and you will make money. Then you can scale up and improve.

For me, I was very overwhelmed, but I think the "best" thing to do is after a week or so you should have a general overview of what IM involves, ie autoblogs, CPA, affiliate marketing, CL marketing, what have you.

Once you have a general feel for the industry you should focus in on just one of those. They will all involve learning keyword searching, website building, traffic generation methods, but it will give you a specific focus, and then only after figuring out how to make money with that one method and getting good at it you can move on to other methods. Then you won't be anywhere near as overwhelmed because you will already know the basics.

    Just my thoughts.

To be honest the most difficult thing *might* be making your first buck as oxonbeef wrote or in other words finding a method that will *actually* work. It doesn't matter if it doesn't bring a lot of cash: if it is scalable you have a WINNER, it's only a matter of automating the thing and then get into a different area.

When I first approached IM having been a well paid programmer for a long time it was a matter of changing my mindset from "find the ONE thing that pays the best" -> to -> "find something that JUST pays AND can be replicated on a large scale".

If a noob or to say it better someone new at IM (noob is associated with a sort of classism I can't stand myself even if I've been on the internet since the bbs...) adopts this philosophy and keeps learning every day, with the right amount of dedication he CAN'T fail. But, hey, that's just my opinion ;)

Good luck to everybody new at IM.

I am very new to IM too (about 3 months reading and "learning" and 1 month doing it) and I just saw myself on oxonbeef post except for the first few dollars lol
First I was amazed with the forum, then I started to get so into it that all I have with me now is the idea to go for my working method and start earning something. And I do not expect more than USD50 for my first month, since I am just testing.

At first this is for sure a lot of information and you just want to read everything and start trying those things and if you do not put your head in place you`ll end up with nothing.

For start, I am just with ONE wp blog since I did not knew even what a cpanel was a few months ago. Now imagine the rest. I had nothing at first!

Wish a good luck for all of us (newbies).

edit: maybe sorry for my english, I am from Brazil

Yes, IM is internet marketing, and BBS that sirgold mentioned is Bulletin Board Service, they don't exist anymore, I used to love those, the internet before there was really a net.

I am new to this forum, but have been doing IM for ten years or so. The main thing I can tell you is to stay FOCUSED. I used to fly from one method to the next without sticking around to let any one of them develop properly and make money. I basically half-assed all of them. Follow ONE proven method and stay with it until the money comes in. Master it first-then scale up and move on to a second revenue stream. Good Luck.
