How does TOR select exit nodes? It's not random, man!

Lately I've always been getting all these exit nodes from Germany (that's the last IP in the chain the destination website sees). There's too many of them to be a coincidence. Did anyone stop running exit nodes but the Germans? I hear it's pretty much a bitch to run one since the child pornography fuckers are all over it, one guy got his house raided by the police because of it... I suspect it'll all be over soon anyways.

why not select the nodes that you wish to exit ??

Tor selects the nodes based on their bandwidth, you'll receive the fastest nodes more likely than the slower ones.
