How does this work?

I wonder how this hiring of article writer works.

Lets say I post a request for a freelancer job. And one person agree to write the articles for me...

Questions:
- Then what if I'm not satisfied with his articles and refuse to pay him, how is desputes like that handled?
- What if I give the article writer a keyword I want him to write articles about, and he uses those keywords to create a competitive niche site to the one I'm trying to create, How is that handled?
- Do you sign an agreement before doing the freelancer work or do you trust what folks says in messages (ie forum messages)?
- Is it so easy as just provide a keywords and the article writer does the rest?

Its been as easy as getting a keyword and doing the rest for the client n my case. I have never gone through anything else. We have a chat on one of the messenger and on a satisfied note the payment is sent and the keyword given. In a pertcular time frame my work is to deliver the articles.

As far as trusting goes try and give work to people who have a reputation or iTraders.

Usually you do not sign any agreement. Payment should be sent before the articles are given to you. A good idea is to only work with reputable members of the website you find the freelancer at. Of course, anytime you use a freelancer there is always a risk of them competing with you, but that isn't really likely for many reasons. And when it comes to your last concern, every freelancer requires different information to start with.
