I have noticed some magazine websites of example viralthread com that are running ton of traffic to some pages of its website and the only monetizing thing that i can see are ads - a lot of ads around the articles, everywhere.

Does the owner rely on sending huge but cheap traffic and monetize only on ad clicks ? if that is true it's very surprising that it can be profitable. I was thinking that the owner aims to make some good pages go viral thanks to social shares and get extra free traffic but the pages are so shitty. The share buttons are actually not pushy at all.
I can hardly believe that visitors are sharing and coming back to site where are more ads than a content. But who knows!

I would like to learn more about this thing if you guys have any idea.

I think they use this method:
    Step 1:
Good video on page -> Facebook ads to promote video -> Get likes page
    Step 2:
Post good content link to their Site -> Get clicks from Fans on page
    Step 3:
    Repeat day by day.

BTW: I have the fanpages with over 220k likes by using this method.

Come on guys, I thought this was BlackHat World? :p

Think about this for a second: if that website makes profit, even if it's just a measly dollar per day, does that not equate to a successful formula? The next logical step - scale it/improve it.

You have one website making money, why not make another? Use your profits to fund future endeavors, which in turn brings in profit, and continue to scale until you're making the money you want. Compete against yourself, if you have to - if you've got 5 different social media pages with 200k fans each, all following the same niche and "competing" against one another, you've got up to a million people potentially seeing your content (same goes for websites), which means a potential million clicks.

On the flip side, use that formula as a base for greater profits; test different things to increase your CTR, leverage that traffic to your advantage (free advertising for your other websites), sell shoutouts and ad space on places like Fiverr - get creative with it.

Too much work? Hire writers, hire VAs, outsource that work so you have more time to work at other methods, to further your profits. And let's not forget about scripts/bots to help lessen the workload. If you know - or are willing to learn - how to code, you can greatly reduce your workload without having to spend any more money that it'll cost you to write something. If you can't code and have no real desire to learn, use your profits to buy a bot that will cut down (or possibly eliminate) your workload.

The point is, the hard part is finding a way to make steady money. Once you have a steady PROFIT stream, repeat the cycle, tweak it to find what works best for you, and exploit the hell out of it until you've got more money than you know what to do with.

Same thing I've been trying to do. Get your earning per 1k visits to high and pay a fraction of that to affiliates. Ex. If your rpm is 10, you can pay $5/1000 visits to someone on Facebook to send you traffic. As long as you're making more than you spend it doesn't matter. A website that gets that much traffic is making a ton of money as is so they can spend a lot to have traffic sent to them. At a point if you're spending a million dollars a day to pay someone to send you traffic, you're still making a million a day. Now these websites are also working with sites that will pay them a lot more to have ads on their website so just image.
