Hi guys

Recently agreed to purchase a .co.uk Domain from a company they have sent me a form to fill out but I'm a newbie with this and dont quite understand it..

This is the email I was sent

'It’s not possible for us to transfer the domain to your namescheap account. We need this form completing and then we can transfer the domain.

If you’re not sure of any of the fields just enter NA.

The field we do need though is the IPS tag.'

- how do I find an IPS tag?
- how would I get the domain onto namescheap?
- will the renew cost be what it usually would be, say $7.99 a year?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Namecheap has a great support system , you can chat live , ask all these questions and get realtime valid responses.

The .uk registry (Nominet) has different requirements and IPS tag is one of those requirements to register or transfer a .uk or .co.uk domain.

When transferring a domain the IPS tag needs to be updated/modified to the new IPS tag of the new registrar you're transferring the domain to.

Different registrars or resellers handle this differently. If you're going to use Namecheap you'll need to contact their support to make sure you have/provide the correct information.

Renewal costs also depend on the registrar or reseller you're renewing the domain through.
