I am fairly new to Tumblr, and was just sort of wondering how content goes viral. Like... is it the more likes/reblogs you get on a post, then the higher it gets listed for those specific tags in the post?

It's just I seen some people saying that have hundreds of accounts and I was just wondering what the benefits were exactly.

    1. Get a lot of reblogs.
    2. Get a reblog from a huge account.

I remember I got a reblog from a HUGE accounts and that post is STILL getting reblogged after 1 year and on the day of the reblog the traffic was insane.

Planting backlinks to your tumblr site. It will help increase traffic to it and make viral.

Marketing tumblr and instagram bit the same. They use hastag on search.
However tumblr index is very strong in google

Do make sure that the content is good or else it will be going no where.

A lot of people think that viral content, whether on Tumblr, YouTube, Twitter or Facebook, turns on the quality of the content.

I'm not going to argue about content quality.

    It has to be there.

There has to be some sort of element in the content that would make people want to share the content.

With that said, I strongly believe, based on what I've seen and what I've done, that the real secret to viral content is not so much the content, but the people sharing that piece of content.

I hope you see where I'm coming from.

You see, every single day, there are over two million pieces of original content being published on the Internet.

These are two million pieces of content that are shared throughout all social media platforms.

Most of them do not go viral.

Only a tiny fraction of them do.

If you pay attention to how these pieces of content spread like wildfire, there is one common denominator.

Somehow, somebody who is influential with a large number of people, found a particular piece of content compelling enough to share it with his or her network.

This person in turn is so authoritative and so credible that people readily give that person the benefit of the doubt.

So, it's not a question of good quality versus lousy quality.

A good quality is absolutely required, but good quality, in of itself, is not going to make your content go viral.
