WatchMojo and other large channels use blockbuster movies to make top ten videos like "10 hottest sex scenes in movies", "Top Music Videos from 1991", ect. How are they using movies and music to make top tens and not getting copyright strikes from YouTube and not getting content claimed by the creators?

Also, if you use fair use for commentary or criticism, doesn't that basically make any copyrighted content fair game as long as you add in an additional part or use it in a larger collection of other content?

Answered my own question. Sorry mods, feel free to delete this or leave it for others searching for this info.

    tl;dr

Use at least 70/30 original to copyrighted content.

Use multiple sources, not a single copyrighted work.

Credit author of any copyrighted content.

So I guess a watchmojo top ten with ten different movies all credited to original authors covers it. They don't follow the 70/30 rule but only use each copyrighted content for less than 10% of the video with the countdown slides and animations they add.

Hopefully we all learned something today... About using other peoples things to make money. Long live BHW.
