Im using google sniper which i bought the other day, but he's telling me how to use the old keyword tool but now thats gone and has been replaced with the keyword planner..so how do you use the phase match with the keyword planner and how do you set it to show results for desktop searches only? and not mobile traffic? its driving me up the wall.

If I understand your question and understand the new keyword planner, I think the answer is: The new keyword planner only uses exact match for phrases now. They got rid of the broad match because they realized it was useless.

As for the second part, you can see a mobile Vs. Desktop by using the 'Get traffic estimates for a list of keywords' option.

Doesn't this completely ruin the whole google sniper 2.0 method? In the tutorial he explains that checking the phrase match box is a very important part of it.

It should never have changed from the keyword tool in the first place. Way to complicate things google..

No. Now you just don't need to check the box.

The new keyword planner is much better and gives you allot more information. You just need to learn how to use it.
