That's why you need to hedge your risk by having multiple sites in case something undesirable happens.

I put a lot of effort in ranking a site then it wiped out from serps... I don't see any reason to do that again. if it happen to 1 site it will happen with 100.

Trust me , i had the same question.
1 update and my entire work stopped for 3 months , I then realized how stupid i was - now started focusing on other platforms and other verticals too.

Yes but usually your blog doesn't die at every google update, maybe just once in 5-10 years.

Maybe you did SEO in the past when it was much easier so you don't want to deal with what's happening nowadays, but it's working.

If he's suffering from Google's algorithms right now, then he hasn't been doing SEO, he's been toying around and hitting the keys, or watching videos of different marketers selling air. But he certainly wasn't doing SEO and he wasn't learning anything.
