This technique is far too popular now. How do you think they will be slapped by the next big update?

    My take on it:

What is the purpose of registering a domain name?

    -To secure your business/brand
    -To secure your own name
-To register something catchy to be used in marketing material
    -....

So thinking about the above I'm thinking domains with words like:
    "review"
    "How To"
    "buy"
    "bulk"
    "wholesale"

Will be the first to get slapped.

We already know long domain names don't have as much value. We think? domains with 4 or more words don't have as much value. (how many businesses have 4 or more words?)

Does anyone have anything to add to this discussion?

too many pre-existing exact match domains with quality sites on them. Google can not "Slap" that. The only thing they could do is devalue it's importance in ranking.

    There will be no 'slap'.
If anything, EMD's may hold less weight in calculating rankings.
Just like some backlinks are holding less weight.

Alright slapped may be the wrong word here.. (similar to devalue though, get over it)

The purpose of this thread is to get opinions on HOW they will devalue these domains. Will the algorithm start looking at the site wide links more (footers) to allow sites to be ranked easily with their domains?
