Hi, I understand this is a touchy topic however I thought this would be the best place to ask this question. I have a client who has some bad reviews/complainents online, I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way of doing something to make that bad review site drop from the serps? Thansk for your help
It really depends on the details. Is the review site ranking for the brand terms of the particular company? If so and its a brand term, your best bet is to create some good quality web 2.0's targeting the brand keyword. This will have the effect of lowering the ranking of the review site by replacing it with your targeted properties, but as I say it will depend upon the size of the task ahead and the key terms which need to be targeted.
As said above. Try to control the top 10 spots. Make web 2.0's, forum thread, squidoo lenses, articles, etc. and then backlink those. This will get them higher ranked and hopefully push out the link to the site that has the bad review. Hope that helps
Hi, Thanks for your replies, that is the strategy I am currently taking, I was just wondering if there was a way to tarish their sites from the serps, yes i know this is sinister and maybe even a bit evil but afetr all thsi si a blackhat forum Thaks for your help and replies so far, if anyone else has any other ideas, thank you.
I don't know if this will help, but what you're talking about is called reputation management. As one of the posters said, it's about controlling the top 10 positions (or so) of a SERP. The reason I wanted to tell you that it's called reputation management is that you may be able to search on that term and uncover some tips and tricks that might lead you to what you're looking for. Good luck!
