there's a budget of a few hundred $ if someone can do this successfully.
You want look your website like twitter (for phising) if a user comes from twitter (etc)?
Like a user comes from twitter etc.
As far as I know that's impossible in the popular browsers. (Firefox, Chrome, IE)
Um... CPA-Redirector does this (google it for download) but it will be tricky because FB/Twitter/Myspace don't just show the referrer as facebook.com, they show it as http://facebook.com/#ref=mf/photo3434/jjs8d88 if you get my drift.
With CPA-R though, you could build a website related to the offer and claim you get traffic from social networks to it. Just spoof it as coming from there and you're all set.
Hey Jared, I read your reply and it relates to my question. My idea:
If someone were to gather a few hundred of the FB referrer pages like you listed (assuming this is even possible). Would you be able to rotate the referrer used using a script (I don't believe I saw CPA-Redirector 2 offering that capability). That would potentially allow someone to fake the referrer as Facebook (or other social media) traffic.
Thoughts on my idea anyone. And if anyone with coding skills could offer advice on how to rotate the site list to set as the referrer, I would be very appreciative.
It's possible but not effective. I tried and failed horribly.
Most sites will allow you to set them as the referrer but you need access to their headers. However, authority sites such as FB and Twitter won't let you do it.
If a site does allow it, the connection process is slow so your visitor will just leave.
^ Did you use CPA-Redirector?
