How do you promote/make money from Contests & Giveaways?

I'm planning to run some giveaways for my blog with the purpose to increase site engagement and get some awareness on social media.

I don't expect to earn money directly from it but I do plan to increase my email list and Facebook page/group.

Knowing my goals how do you guys suggest doing to get the most from giveaways?

Build a landing page, create a Facebook post, and make people comment/like/share on it to sign up for the giveaway still works? And if so, what are the best practices to promote that kind of contest? Facebook ads?

Any tip/trick to increase my chances of getting something back from it is highly appreciated.

I've personally never hosted giveaways. But i've noticed much often on how they tend to benefit a lot of users at once. Even kylie does it (24hr)

Focus on group giveaways as it may yield same results for nearly all participants. Thus, reducing investment per head.
