Just starting out botting it. and wondering what the rules are to not get banned or lessen the risk :) since it sounds like bans come out of nowhere regardless?

Should I change the url every single time i post? Is it ok to use tinyurl or does the domain beyond also need to change? or one domain per account or what?

Take a look at the following Tumblr blog: awesomeshityoucanbuy

He's got affiliate links on all of his posts and has been around since Oct 2014.. I wonder how he does it without being banned.

301 redirects to your affiliate URL may be the best route mate.

Not my site but the IM guru I'm learning from recommends creating a mini landing page for each product on your website and then pointing links from Tumblr, Pinterest, etc. to these mini landing pages. I've always heard that Tumblr doesn't allow affiliate links but if they recently changed their policy or started to tolerate them then I definitely would be interested to know since this setup is far more convenient and could yield better conversions.

The blog is not getting banned because:
    1) the caption clearly states that you are directed to another website
    2) no spam
    3) this blogs URL, title and description match the content of the blog (not misleading)
    4) the blog doesn't use a bot

It is all in the ToS of Tumblr.

Thanks, didn't realize some of those points. However, my lingering question is: How do those 4 points exonerate the blogger from Tumblr's prohibition against Affiliate Marketing? Even if they clearly state that you'll be directed to another website, the webmaster is still using Tumblr to drive Affiliate sales.

Oh I've got a great trick you might appreciate.

Create a fake news website. Write an article that pushes people to your lp. Not only does it boost trust from authority and boost cr's, but it stops tumblr for dropping the ban hammer. They gunna ban you for tumbling an article from a news site? Hell no.

I don't see any affiliate links. Even in the posts where he links to Amazon he doesn't even include a ref id. My guess is he is trying to grow the account and get his followers comfortable with his "in your face advertising" method, or maybe he just slips an affiliate link in here and there randomly and I didn't notice it.

Now that you noticed it, it seems like he has affiliate links to Amazon here and there.. and also a bunch of links to other ecommerce sites with no affiliate link. So I guess he can argue he's got a case for his Tumblr blog not being used for affiliate marketing but if anyone else would want to chime in, I'd like to hear your thoughts.
