Looking at one of my video metrics I see it gets over 300 views from search (number 3 in main keyword search results) but only 7 views from suggested videos.

I'm sure there's room for improvement on that, how do you get better on suggested videos?

While you can rank on YouTube search easily due to your video popularity alone without much time watched on your video, the suggested video algorithm tends to focus more on audience retention than popularity and hence videos that have a greater watch time are surfaced more often. For example, a video that has cumulative time watched of 900 days is more likely to be suggested than a video with 80 days time watched. So they're only recommending old videos?
