Let's say you know Chinese, or another language for a large population country with many poor people.

SEO and PPC competition are all weak, so it's a green playing field. But

But how would you attack this space? What are top ways to monetize within this space?

Especially if it's a lot of MOBILE traffic.

Your best bet would be adsense or some CPM techniques. You wouldn't have a big chance in CPA if you're looking at INTL email submits, as most of them are quite extinct now unless someone wants to write their own co reg for that specific country.

Besides all that, you may offer a genuine service in the specific area. Look for any businesses and sell them B2B services as it would be much easier to convince them who are economically stable.

You have to be very innovative for that. The poor chinese do still buy things, but the quantities are not as high as the western world and the pricing is generally a lot lower.

I remember that there are some entrepreneurs in south africa who built a system that enabled people to use cell phone minutes as sort of a way of trading for things, but I don't know if that concept is viable elsewhere.

Nevermind SEO, in a country with a lot of poor, cheap people, open a Walmart.

Why would you do that?

The best thing about internet marketing is you can target people from countries who have the means and the resources to spend. I live in a country where most people can not or will not buy original ebooks/software/movies/music online and offline. There might be a way to monetize such a poor market, but I don't think it will be as effective compared to marketing in richer countries such as in the US and EU.

Sell cheap drugs, being poor makes you miserable, drugs are always the answer :)

But seriously, creativity is half the battle, the other battle is persistence. You don't have competition so whatever you come up with as long as it makes money and can easily be replicated you should be fine.

Here's an example...if the people are so poor, use them. Outsource them as cheap virtual assistants, you will be the middle man and arrange everything, take most of the money and give them a fair share :)

You'd be surprised.

Compare the prices of a foreign Walmart with those of an American Walmart and be amazed.

Walmart is considered in some places to be where the rich people shop...And yes the quality of goods in some foreign Walmarts I've seen are well above and beyond the shill that's peddled in American stores.

Get a lot of VAs and outsource for people in richer countries?

Do you have a specific country in mind ? Just because a country is on the whole poor it doesnt mean theres not a lot of rich people there. A chinese friend of mine resident in the UK is selling high end handbags and designer clothes into China. I send cars to Indonesia I know thats not web related but 300+ miliion people, the small percentage with money is still a huge audience

I find this thread's complete lack of innovative thinking to be appalling, so I simply won't help the OP.
However, if you need help making money in an society with huge wage disparity and few enforced laws, you will never succeed at anything.

I've done some offline marketing in South America while I'm here to help some friends on the side, and let me tell you, it's the easiest money you'll ever make.

Making that level of profit in the US for most "SEOers" is a pipedream.

It is not true that methods are not working. You have test it with all methods .You have to spend big penny to know which actually works.

You don't have to necessarily spend money to find out what works, it's more of a question of time than money.
