Do you create a separate analytics account for each client or do you manage all your clients under a single account? Just wondering.

since i only have 2 clients, i manage their analytics account under my own account. all they care is the report, they dont even know where i get it.

Can you at a later stage put them onto their own accounts or would that not be possible? I've not used analytics for over 2 years so I don't really remember / know much at this time but need to start using it again. I would prefer to keep one account for the obvious advantage of easy management but then again it would be better to keep certain clients on separate accounts.

If they don't already have a G-analytics account, add them under your own. You can always add them as a user and limit what they see/actions. Also, when you create it, you control the data afterwards so they will be more hesitant to leave you down the road as that will mean losing a lot of visitor data.

I'm not worried about people leaving me down the road. If they want to leave, I'd rather have them leave and take their accounts with them, I guess if they're under me it would not be possible to transfer them over to their own accounts with their data?

I do the same thing as wannabie says and it works great. They are only interested in seeing reports.
