How do you guys manage project workflow across multiple projects? I'm primarily concerned with recording where I am in the process (build 1/2 of the required links for client A, still need to submit this other thing for client B, etc)--I started using excel, but it is not as versatile as I'd like. To complicate matters, I'm at two different locations, depending on the day.

I realise that G docs may be an option that would help me to keep track of what was accomplished on each project regardless of where I login...any other solutions out there?

I usually store things in Dropbox to easily access them across multiple computers.

Ever tried Google Docs extensively? It works wonders for projects which have multiple tasks if you figure out how to use it properly.

It depends what budget you have available. There are SEO paid options, like Linkdex, which allows you to set out which links you have built etc but it isn't great for other sections of SEO.
Google docs is good for basic storing, while Dropbox is also alright but leaves you in the same issue as before (using excel but from diff computers). Unless you're willing to pay a fair amount every month then it might be worth sticking with Excel for the moment.

I was using Basecamp earlier for internal communication but now we have a custom designed tool which keeps a track of every project we are working on. There are a set of pre-designed tasks that we can auto populate (or else add new ones manually, for more flexibility) and at one glance, we can take a look at all the work we're doing.

You can get something like that developed in PHP. It wouldn't cost a lot of money and will be #1) customizable to your exact needs, and #2) there will be room for adding features in the future. In case you don't want something like that, you may look for a combination of Google Docs + Gmail + Google Tasks, or Basecamp, or Apollo HQ or Podio. There are a ton of project management tools which can handle most of the basics for you.

Thanks guys...now I'm actually thinking about having something developed just for seo...wonder if it would sell here and what kind of functions people would want?
