I was on the bus the other day and this guy was on the phone fighting with a coffee shop employee. when he got off the phone i asked him whats wrong and he says he "left" his laptop at the coffee shop and they won't give it back to him.

how do you "leave" a laptop? I just cant imagine how this is possible. like when he was going home, he didnt notice his bag was lighter than usual?

Don't you hate it when strangers on the bus ask you about your business. :o

In some circles in which I travel, asking about your business like that would make for a very uncomfortable situation.

You should have asked him if he has access to a photocopier.

While "forgetting" a laptop sounds crazy, have you ever forgotten your keys? Or locked them in your car? Or possibly forgot to pick up a child that was at school or maybe a friend that came with you who wasn't with you when you left? While forgetting these things (that seem so essential) sounds crazy, it's understandable if you have a hundred other things going on and you're rushing to get somewhere. Just a thought though.

I'm guilty of almost having done this, but at the time I was much younger and thinking with my dick instead of my brain.

You are not smoking enough.
I have lost eight laptops, thirteen phones and two boyfriends whilst smoking pot in coffee shops.

i lost the will to keep reading, reading that

Used to work door to door, was amazing how many people left their keys in the lock. Also a guy in my current job was left on a ferry, 6+ people in the van and no-one realised he wasn't there until they were out of the port

Yeah forgetting a laptop is pretty weird. I also don't understand people that forget their wallet at places. I keep mine on me no matter what. I guard it like it's my child.

I couldn't picture many of us here riding the bus especially not yourself BTB, if I recall you mentioned you have your own driver in another thread.. or have you sacked him for the new bike in your avatar? jk xD

I was actually talking about butting into other's business there as that is not acceptable in many subcultures... had nothing to do with his actual location.

I have forgotten my laptop various places on several occasions. Library, Subway(food), church, school(about a half dozen times). Not a coffee shop, but only because I rarely go to them. I did almost leave it at Panera Bread.
I get up to go talk to someone, and then I forget that I brought my laptop and then just leave without it.
That's in 15 years of owning a laptop, so it only happens about once ever other year. But yes, I can say it's possible as I've done it almost 10 times. On two occasions, I didn't even realize it on the same day.
