For people outsourcing their work, how do you make sure that the person your outsourcing to doesn't contact your clients? i assume that you can trust most people, but how do you handle this?

Personally I don't trust most people, I have learned the hard way and I always use caution when it come to my money and clients money. The most important things that you can do are:

1. Build rapport with your clients, if they feel they are friends with you then they will not want to work with anyone else... even if they were contacted.
2. Make sure your outsource person has credentials and comes recommended, let them know that you will keep sending them business if they provide good work and build a relationship with them as well. Why try and steal your client if they can earn a lot more in the future.
3. 85% of my clients are in contracts so I am not really worried about them leaving.
4. If really want to use caution you can have the person you are outsourcing to sign legal documentation. They steal your client for $500 you sue them for $10,000.

It's easy. You send them your website first. If they try to contact you on your website, move on. You should do this as a regular part of your business. You need to build up a directory of trusted outsourcers... In case something happens to your contractor, also to compare price and quality.

Good luck

One must be very selective while choosing some one to outsource the work. Signing an agreement is the best option available in my opinion.
