How do you guys harvest public proxies that actually work? None of the sources in SB give me any proxies. Previously I used to get one per 5-10 proxies tested, now I've just tested 200 and finally found one.

Your best bet is to forget public proxies and just buy some if you need them. If someone were to actually post a method that worked, the method would quickly become trashed out.

Yeah, I would recommend just paying for proxies as well. Public Proxies suck! There are a number of service threads for this in the BST section I believe.

Yea thanks, well I have 10 private proxies but they die after just harvesting 50 keywords even though I have a low number of threads because I have footprints including inurl which kill them faster.

You will never use private proxies for kezwords again...because that's happend...they get banned.
For scraping KW use only public proxies!

Try to write you proxies seller and ask him for new proxies...tell him they were banned by google.

I have source of cheap proxies, could share with you for few bucks.
If interested hit me pm.

What's your advice when it comes to when to use your private (paid) proxies vs harvested proxies? Don't use your private for anything google related? You mention keyword scraping should be done with public proxies but what about SERPS lookups?

waste of time, get private proxies, i use your private proxy and am happy with it

Use public proxies only for scrapign KW. For any other options (Scraping, harvesting posting...) use private proxies, because they are much faster.

If you will be checking link, you can do it without proxies at all.

Thanks for the advice. Duly noted.

1. Go into Scrapebox and search this custom footprint:

filetype: txt inurl: proxy OR inurl: proxies OR inurl: proxylist OR inurl: proxieslist
this will return hundreds of proxy lists.

edit: delete the spaces after the colons. I had to put them there so emoticons don't show

2. Under export URL's, select "copy all urls to clipboard"

3. Go to manage proxies, harvest proxies, add source and select "from the clipboard." Click start. Scrapebox will show you how many proxies it finds at each URL. The results will probably total around ~500,000.

4. Delete all the lists that have less than 100 proxies.

5. Start testing. DO NOT TEST ALL AT ONCE. Testing 500,000 proxies will take days.

Using this method (and setting my connections to 200 in the Scrapebox.ini file) I typically find 75-100 proxies in 5-10 minutes.

Hope this helps.

Don't delete any of the results, no matter how few proxies show up. You never know where a good proxy will be found.

Also, remember to remove duplicates before testing! Pisses me off to no end when 500,000 turns into 30,000 after dups are removed, but saves me a lotttta time.
