White hat SEO takes time, quality content and a commitment to your brand and this is exactly what makes me so hesitant to choose a niche. I feel like you need to choose a niche that truly interests you that you can build great content in. But it's so difficult to choose that. While I have many interests, I'm not sure any of them are things I could produce absolutely outstanding content in. How have you guys decided on your niche? Do you just blog about something you are super knowledgeable in and was it a fake it till you make it kind of thing?

we all pick white hat niches, its the seo that is blackhat

Just pick something that you've either bought or sold. If your just starting start small, and keep a record of what you do. You'll soon find a place on your spreadsheet to put "domain ideas" that you want to try next

I'm not really interested in any of the niches im working in. I pick my niches after keyword research, may it be womens underwear or airplanes I dont care as long as there are money to be made. But I dont write myself so I guess its different if you will write all the content yourself.

I want to choose a niche that I will absolutely commit to. Something I have passion for. Something I don't mind writing about on a regular basis. Something that I can truly excel in. This is why I said picking a niche for white hat seo. I don't care to do black hat seo.

OnlineOnly, are you doing blackhat seo for the sites you build? Like GSA SER and others? That's just not a route I want to go. I want to build a business/brand and something that will be long lasting.

I do both blackhat and whitehat. I always try and build my site for the long run and not churn and burn. Quality over quantity.

For example one site I own I haven't build a single link to and its ranking for hundreds of keywords but its taking around 3 years to get to where it is now. And I haven't wrote a single word but I spent alot of money on writers.

Bow ties for pet lizards. There is the perfect white hat niche. You can definitely rank that with no links and no "cheating" required.

I always tried to stick to those niches, that I was interested in in the beginning, however, those days are gone and now I stick to those niches that are profitable and outsource content.

I like to blog about something that I have an interest in. I think that this is the easiest way as then you are more determined to make it work.

I've been choosing niches that I am actually interested in and have a passion for. They will most likely turn into blogs that I will outsource articles for, or maybe write myself. Who knows :)

Seriously!? Is that even a niche?

    Ok. Back to topic.

At start, I chose niches wherein I thought I could make the most money. However, time came wherein I grew tired of them. I realized, I was gradually losing my interest. The niches became a pain to me. Then I switched to the niches that I liked. There I realized that I could still make good money on things that I am fond of.

No, my point is that you shouldn't choose a niche thats "easy," but one thats profitable. And most profitable niches have competition, and it is highly unlikely that you will be able to rank for such keywords with just white hat (no link, no blackhat) tactics.

First find out where the profit is. Then figure out how to get there. If you do it inside out, by figuring out whats 'doable' or 'easy' then you're choosing to lose out of the gate.

Do product research... browse dropshippers or whatever applies to you. Then when you find something you can sell or do that has a great profit margin you start figuring out IF you can pull it off. Don't begin by limiting yourself with boundaries. Too many people here fail by never trying anything but easy niches and are too scared to do anything that isn't "whitehat."

Be bold guys... whip out your balls and lay them on Google's chin.

I do choose the niche upon my knowledge. If I know the subject then I can write 100% unique content. And it looks natural with that quantity of keywords that I need to use. I can answer the questions and make some discussions. Users trust professionals.

If you are interested in the niche then write the content yourself, if not then outsource.

BUT THE MAIN POINT IS: Focus on profitability! That's why we are here on this forum. MONEY. Make sure that you get the most money in your niche, that's all that matters.

I think the key is to find an intersection between what you are passionate about (or can learn to be) and what buyers are passionate about.

    outsource the content dude!
at the end what matters is how much $$ you are earning!
choose the niche which has high demand!
Big marketers search for $$ than interests!!
