    How do you get motivation to study while you get passive income from IM?
    I just lose motivation but still i think i may need it for later as a second option if IM fails.

    I get motivation to study by studying something I love. IM is fun an that but it won't get me to the places that I want to be.

    This is exactly the same for me. My ultimate goal on life is to go Travelling around the world. In what I'm studying right now, there is no chance at all that I'll be able to do that with the income solely from what I'm doing.

    But at the same time, I will not drop that because Visual Effects (what I'm studying) is my biggest passion. I love it, and I got into the industry not for the money.

    So I see IM as a way out. A way to keep doing what I still love but at the same time being in line with my ultimate life goal :)

    Think of the things you can do in a classroom, at the right age, and which you can't on the internet, at any! ;)

    Try learning something that's new but is beneficial to your current IM strategy. Learn enough things and you'll just naturally want to practice them. Keep yourself constantly busy and at least for me, that seems to keep my motivation high.

    Action = more action.
    Inaction = more inaction.

    Personally, I quit school so I wouldn't have anything to fall back on. This way, I have to succeed. It forces me to think of IM as a long term business. Any time I get lazy I remember that McDonalds is waiting for me, so I will have to keep pushing until I'm ready to retire.

    Even Ive gone through this phase in life. I was earning decent thousands of dollars while i was in my engg graduation. I was tempted to spend more time on IM and rake in more $ but i thought edu is as imp as $ in life coz you never know what would happen with IM tomorrow or atleast we should have a basic degree with good marks so that we are secured in life some what. So i balanced both im as well as studies and tbh excelled in both.
    But I must say I made a great decision to stop studying anymore after completing my graduation and no further studies like masters etc. I was even offered a job in accenture as a senior software engineer with a decent salary but i refused to join and chose IM.
    Now I feel it was the best decision of my life to complete my graduation and reject nice job offer and do IM full time. Now I've made so much money which my classmates or friends of same age and college will take 10 years to make. I also have plans about my future in IM. In which niche i will shape it how much $ i cud make life long assessing all risks and updates etc
    So yeah all in all IM rocks !

    I was fighting the same question during the last long months. 2 days ago, I graduated at university.

    I am very, very happy to say that and being able to put it on my resume, even though I know that in the tech industry, no one really give a fk about it and no one ever asked me about my degree.

    Look, you can do both at the same time according to me.
    I have done completed my graduation (B.Tech) this year while doing IM and used to travel 6 hours a day.
    1 thing is true that if you are earning a good amount from IM then you won't be able to take any job beside IM.
    I have got job offers from IBM, OFOS etc but I had to reject all of them because they were not even offering 1/7th of what I am earning in IM.

    1 thing which did help me was that I had many friends there. Plus, I reserved day time for studies and night time for IM :)
