I can't think of anything good, unique that hasn't been done to death or that doesn't have too much competition to be able to stand out. Every idea I thought of before, I figure it's stupid, or won't work out b/c the costs would be too high, or too many obstacles would get in the way, or it's not something many people would want or be interested in anyway. Something always gets in the way

I would like to get some kind of sustainable, long term online business started (NO ridiculous blackhat labor intensive, churn n burn methods that are too prevalent here) but my creativity sucks, I don't feel smart enough to do it. My writing and persuasive skills aren't great (I mean actual high quality writing skills, I'd gladly outsource that if possible).

I obviously can't do any offline business nor would I want to anyway b/c there would be high startup and maintenance costs and also b/c of my social retardation/anxiety.

I can't decide between e-commerce or just anything where high traffic = high income (like Adsense for instance). It would be great to do something unique and low competition (like for instance that guy selling snow online, custom potatoes in the mail, other weird unique things that became successful somehow)
I know the main important thing is to offer something of value to lots of people, that's how you make big bucks. But it seems like there's nothing I can personally offer. I dream of passive income one day, but so far it's just a pipe dream

My income is low and I don't want to be stuck at my current dead end job my whole life, I keep wanting out but there's seemingly no way to do that. I'm always getting the short end of the stick in everything

I have no clue where and how to start and unfortunately I feel like you need to be intelligent and gifted to be self employed which I'm not

How can I find something that would work for me? I'm not trying to make this a dumb post or anything, I really feel stuck and afraid nothing will work for me, b/c that's usually how it is!

Do not try to be "the brightest bulb in the chandelier".
First copy what works. Then make it better. Then other people will try to copy you.

As far as Adcense, look on Facebook, I have a local group that is a Yardsale group where locals can B,S&T. Before I started my current case study (Still trying to see how this goes), I thought of taking that group and making it a stand alone site due to strict FB regulations not allowing the selling of guns etc. (I live in the country), this way, people could still get what they want PLUS post whatever they felt they wanted to post. I know you're thinking that this is the same as CL, BUT the fact is, in my area, no one trusts CL anymore, therefore when they see that "Such and Such Yardsale" is now a standalone site with no regulations from FB, they will most likely join because a lot of people who can't work, make their living through these types of ways, the group I am talking about has 20k members, that's already 20k potential people to come to your site. Make signing up simple, and as your traffic grows, add Adcense to the equation, and most likely the site will rank itself due to all the potential people posting. This is just a quick idea and many of the members here may debunk this in one post, but it's a thought and I feel like it's a decent guideline. DO NOT rush this, take time to ponder it, sleep on it, eventually you'll have a light bulb moment, trust me, I'm just like you, I've still yet to make my first dollar online, but I'm not giving up and neither should you. Best of luck.

    1) It does not matter if it has been done to death as you can always adjust what has been done to make it unique and personal to you and yet still be effective.

    2) Start small and start doing things where the income is small and as you gain confidence you can move on from there. If your income is small now, it will be at least a little but larger.

    3) You do not have to be either to be successful. You do have to be willing to work though.

    4) See what works out there; look at ads on FB, Adwords, etc and start noting what ads you are seeing over and over again over a period of time and you'll know what works. Take those ideas and see how you can implement them.

In all reality, IM is nothing more than grunt work to find what works and then automating if possible to make it really work. It is not rocket science and although I'll stop short of saying anyone can be successful, I won't hit the brake pedal too hard when I do.

Here's the mistake . There's enough space for everyone , copy something but come with your own twists.

I absolutely admire you and your efforts BTB, I've read many of your threads and try to apply everything I can, albeit I never get it right and still haven't made money, I've definitely learned what doesn't work.

That is about 80% of the game.

I would bet you are on the right path.

Don't sell yourself short...your post indicates to me u indeed have adequate writing skills...I wouldn't start with AdSense it will be a long time intensive journey to more than likely earn scraps.... I disagree with some peoples advice that it doesn't matter if its been done to death just add a twist that mentality won't ever lead to big earnings. I would look at methods on here and use them to brainstorm, use the tools, skills and resources in the posts and keep adding them to your toolbox....For exampleh read about a method involving SMS marketing through say Facebook...you also remember seeing a google autoresponder, and laugh at peoples ewhore methods...then it hits u combine these all and fool dumb dudes that u are 1 mile from them in a hotel and want to bang right now just text u at (Google voice number) then autoresponder with link to some sort of submit and laugh hysterically because ur converting at 60 percent...please nobody pm me about this method lol....I didn't give it all away but to the OP u can pm me I'll help u out....Finally I wanted to say it doesn't have to be something of value that ur providing....all u have to do is create the illusion of value in order to get your target to complete an offer.....

everything that work is usually the same thing that has been told over and over again. SEO, apps, social media. same thing. you dont even need to find a twist when you are just starting. you will find those "natural/spontaneous" twists as you work and learn from your competitors/experience, etc.

This game is like one giant never ending hallway and at the side of the hallway are doors that open up to other hallways , in our case, a method to make money. Someone before you already walked down the same hallway and built that door by applying their own twist and eventually created a new hallway, without realizing it, for others to follow.

Your problem is you are stuck in the main hallway, aimlessly wandering, afraid to open any of the doors because they look too difficult, not appealing, or you feel not worthy of entering. Pick a door and go in. Knock the damn thing down if you have to. You will find the door you like if you keep opening them and eventually you will have created a door that leads the next person to follow down your hallway to success.

OP , what you described is exactly how i felt 1st month i tried to be marketeer. I just couldn't understand world around me ( IM world) . My brain wasn't wired for terms used, i didn't understand cash flow who pays for what and why, who is selling fog, who is guru who is real IM, saturation, and "twist" everyone was talking about was sounding like a cliche. Twist this twist that , and it will work. I didn't figure out back what a good method is, i always had thoughts that most of them don't actually work, that figures in them are fake, that people collect thanks and karma points.

But let me tell you, it's not twist that made me my first online money , it was sweat and blood on my finger tips while working/learning/trying 12 hours a day. Oh im lying. 18 hours a day.

I have this "onion" theory : No matter how much i know , i kinda always think i know or understand the game(when you say deliver goods to people is like 1st layer ever, similar to more traffic=more money) , untill i add 20% more of knowledge and skill , and only then figuring out i actually didn't know jack shit back then, and i know now. And guess what , that thing repeats all the times.I always think i understand and know what i am doing. Then 10 days later (hard work never should stop of course) i see myself being so lame for thinking about simple/rudimentary model of something, ignoring important factors.

When you see yourself being stupid all the time, you'll know u're doing it right. That means progress. And hardwork+progress=money , you don't need to be Tesla , just do your bloody best, and stop dreaming about passive incomes just yet. Passive income people wrongly confuse with easy income. Yes , reduced manual labor , but doesn't exclude building your onion for 10 layers, or thinking about it all the time.

:) Good luck OP , we have all been there. Being lost.

Remember bloody fingertips. If they are dry , u'r doing it wrong :D
