Do you have to become an author and then link to your own website? If not, how do you get their authors to link to your site? Seems like a pretty powerful link.

i just got a link from ehow a few weeks ago.but i did not create the article but rather was done by a contributor.Speaking of the ehow link, remember that the link is still nofollow.

Sign up to be a writer with Demand Studios, find an article that is relevant to your site and use it as a reference. Otherwise, find a DS author who can find an article and is willing to link to your site. A DS author can also create an assignment related to your site and use it, but you need to have an "authority" site in the eyes of the DS editors.

2turdface: "Demand Studios" author, also I am an author with a good amount of articles on eHow.. Maybe I can help with linkage if you have a relative niche site.. I have articles on a wide variety of subjects. PM me with your niche if you're interested and I'll see what I can do.

Before ehow switched to DS I used to write articles on there and link them to affiliate stuff. My guess is it may be harder now to do it with DS in control of the content.

You can try and become a writer for them but they have strict guidelines. I was an author for DS but never wrote anything because it's not worth the hassle. They have a lot of stupid rules.

I will vouch for this. I have not put much effort into getting articles approved since the revamp of the site and author guidelines but ever since the updates the 4 or 5 times I tried submitting articles they were rejected for various reasons. I even tweaked what I thought was causing the issues but no luck, it was much easier in 2009 and early 2010. To be honest if I knew this was coming, I would've spent a LOT more time submitting articles before the changes were made because I still get a decent monthly cash-flow from the articles I still have running.
