How do you get a yelp listing to rank above the GP listing?

    I've seen 2 yelp listing both ranking right below the top 3 paid ads and above the GP 7 pack. One of those is not even ranking on the first page of the yelp results. An example google these kw: carpet cleaning alameda and you'll see what I'm talking about.

    Do you think throwing a ton of backlinks from something like scrapbox at a yelp listing will get to rank in the SERP like that?

    All you need to do is build a ton of backlinks to the listings.

    Yes, build links but I wouldn't just focus on SB links. Use various link types. Treat it like a money site. Build some high quality links to it, and then feed low quality links back to your high quality Tier 1's.

    Keep the links going and you'll get above the maps.
