Hey all, I read a lot of threads that talk about how to find a good niche with google keyword tool and then checking the inurl/intitle and all the other stuff that you need to check before you pick it as a winner. Now, what i want to know from our nuche experts is something else. Today i found a keyword with 2900 global searches per month and 880 local seaarches per month. The keyword also had a lot of adwords competition according to the competition bar on gkt, and the cpc was $2.40 Now i have 2questions: 1. If i set the country filter on gkt to US, what will be more important for me: the global results or the local results? 2. I check the same keywork in semrush.com and their results show 1.6k searches per month and a cpc of $1.18, so what should i do? who is giving me the right information about this keyword? I really want to know this things so i can caculate or at least try to figure if the niche is good and how much it can bring me if i rank on 1-3 on google. Thank you.
I selected exact, then i checked google results to see if i can rank for it esy and quick. I checked the intitle/inurl, exact results with "keyord" and all the other stuff that you need to check, and just when i was ready to buy the EMD i read something about semrush beeing better then gkt and i tried my keyword there and the results are really different and i decided to drop that niche until i get some tips and answer from SEO and niches experts onBHW.
I recommend you get traffic travis, it's free and can analyze the top 20 competition for a specific keyword.
I have it, but i dont want to know if the niche is easy to rank or not, what i need to know id the exact cpc that i will for each click, cause gkt says $2+ and semrush says just over $1, so who is right? what will i get for each click?
A niche is actually just another term for market, but it sounds like you are talking about KW research more than niche research... 1. The Local Search Results is what you should focus on since the traffic will come mostly from the US Google when you rank for your KWs. 2. No KW Tool is going to be 100% accurate; not even Google's. If you want to see what kind of traffic to expect from any KW, throw up a quick Adwords test.
Local results since they show the country stats, and not the world. Is this exact or broad searches? This is what i do when i find niches, i use GKWT and search for example "health" then i check what words have a good trafic, 1k to 50k works for me, then i check these words against matching domains, if all domains are taken on one word it will be scratched. Then i do a google search on the remaing words and see how many hits i get from google, i also check if the results on the first page uses the keyword in title and/or url.
I didnt understand how you do your research, can you show me a sample? Also, from what i see its not so easy to find keywords with more then 1k local searches per month, is there any chance that micro niche sites is dead?
I'm not sure what KW tool you are using, but there are literally tons of KWs with 1000 local monthly searches (exact match) in pretty much any market out there. Micro niches will never die as long as niches exist...
