Wordpress is a pretty popular platform with a ton of plugins, plus it's fairly easy to roll your own add-ons. I use it for most of my AB's.

About traffic - yeah, don't rely on any one source or one tool. Don't buy application X or service Y thinking that it will be the be-all and end-all for traffic. Mix it up, do some automation with some low-priced tools (low-price doesn't have to mean crap; a lot of times it does, but not always - ScrapeBox and Big Mike's incansoft tools come to mind for bargains). IMHO spreading small bits of your budget around multiple quality low-priced tools is way better than blowing your whole wad on one really expensive tool. Unless your budget is unlimited, in which case please PM me lol.

And do a bit of leg-work while you're at it. For example, I was scanning the boards the other night and saw a link to a high PR blog that auto-approved. Went to it, within 20 seconds realized the article was right in the wheelhouse of one of my AB's niches, and dropped a quick comment on there that was relevant to the target blog and to my AB. Little gems like that can really pay off.

I've also noticed a trend where by using AutoBlogged in certain ways, I am getting a real bump in traffic on a couple AB's. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how it works, but just an FYI - there might be gold in them thar hills.

    peace,
    gregs.

If you Google 247 ways to get traffic, there is a good list. Mine is currently 3rd, but if you go there look for the post 2 days prior to get the full list :) While it's not all gold, there are some great ideas there.
