I really havent been on this board for too long and have to admit that i have met some really amazing people ,although when i post to look for someone to hire,i get tons of PM's from people and few days later most are banned.

My question is...if your looking to hire someone (and of coarse, most will ask for an upfront payment) how do you trust these dudes thaty ou dont know? They could simply run off with your money.

    Discuss.

The Answer to "How do you do business with BHW members? "
    Is "very cautiously"!
As said in the post above, avoid the people who have only been on the forum for 5 mins, and if you are slightly suspicious of any member, ask him if you can get a referral from someone who's been on this forum for some time.
    :)
That said- there are some excellent, and very helpful people on this forum, just make sure they are the one's you deal with!!

Well most of this things are let say ... '' smelly '' , first of all even here on bhw post count building can be made , and sometime even when peoples report donkeys they are posting just to increase their post count nothing happens , reputation .... hmmm if you ask some of my ex biatch girlfriends I`m sure you will consider me such a bastard .... :) you got the point right ? About itrader it's just a little script under forums which allow peoples to leave '' feedback's '' each other , totally usefulness if you ask me .

So ... only few things you have on your mind when you are trying to hire peoples or to offer services .... ALLWAYS SERVICES ARE PAYD AFTER THE JOB IS DONE ! easy like this and simple . Also you can use easy for example escrow services from gaf/scriptaliance/elance or any other established freelance sites ,that's in case if you need different type of services . Under the '' services for sale '' from the forum I`m sure the mods trying to keep it clean and save the provider list and you don't have to worry about your risk's .... same buy-sell-trade sections have strict rules which can help you like honest buyer to not lose too much with those tipe of '' next day banned monkeys '' .

    no one really uses itrader..

its basically how you percieve them to be.
read all their posts, how long have they been here?
repped? thanked? post count? (well my postcount is low as hell but ive been on here for over a year)

ASK them about their skills/plan of attack

see if they look like they know what theyre doing

Itrader is something like feedback. You can see it below your reputation. But then Post count, itrader and rep are not necessarily indicators of trustworthiness. You have to take chances after taking the necessary precautions.

Never pay upfront unless it's something in the bst or services section.

This is what im trying to avoid and hope nobody else has to risk this..Correct me if im wrong, but a true blackhatter (assholes that makes a lving off burning people on BHW) will get banned from here, sign up with different IP,account and all and wil still con his/her way to take off with your money. Some of the PM's i recieved were so convincing that i was almost fell for it...There must be a better way to keep everyone here from being victoms.I guess its only in the control of the Mods.

The only solution is to have a BHW payment system. But it will be lots of work for the mods.

How about getting a copy of their passport with a letter written below it their BHW username. If you have nothing to hide and have all the good intentions to provide a service I don't see why you can't show your face, name and some valid proof of who you really are.

Personally - unless they have lots of reviews and reputation I would never pay upfront. If you're looking at developing a long-term relationship then maybe using an escrow service is worth it for the first couple of transactions. It adds some cost, but it might be worth it.

Only pay half upfront, and the other half once the job is complete.

hmmm maybe i should start asking for a small upfront before i start working some people, some tend to NOT reply you after seeing the prototype and/or not like it. My time is then wasted

You should check their itrader, post count, rep and other factors, somebody with a high post count, high rep, high itrader isn't likely to scam you, although somebody with a low postcount, no itrader and joined a few days ago, is likely to scam you, although it's a pain in the ass for new members to start providing their services, as long as you work with trusted people and build up a solid reputation for yourself, you'll be fine in a few weeks/months.
