SEO experts know that having a diverse backlink profile one should have keyword anchors, branded, generic keywords, naked urls and other.
So how do you distribute anchors?

I go with at least 50% brand, 30% naked url, 10% Brand + long tail keyword and 10% generic

90% brand/URL, exact below 1%, partial below 1%. Do it like this and you will do much better in the long run.

People have been reporting all over the place that they are getting much better results with branded/URL anchors. I've been saying it for over a year but oh well, nobody listens to this old mofo.

I do. Even if I dont want to.

however, running a sample sites, with 20 articles, very nasty tough niche, and EACH article gets ONE PBN post with Exact behind it.
    No poblem so far.

this is so pig-ignorant I am not even going to reply; as usual you have no idea what I am talking about, or who the 2 SEO in question are.

I think anchor text may be niche specific I usually do mostly brand and url but saw some case studies from AHREFs showing a little more exact for some niches within affiliate space was acceptable...this case showed the change to more targetted shot them up to #1 however in other cases reducing targetted show them up, in all cases i saw they hovered around 20% target. Most people are already over optimized and dont know it so I would keep away from target if you can as much as possible

That's a really working anchor distribution strategy. Some experts say that there should be more naked urls (close to 45%) and 30% branded.

We've heard that too, what is recommended proportion of url and branded anchors if not use the other anchor types?

We distribute anchors in the following way:

    45% naked url
    30% branded
    14% generic
    6% keyword anchor
    5% other

It works the best for us

I also go something along these lines. And same here, I have seen more and more success recently with less and less exact match anchors being used.

My personal thoughts, directed at anyone reading this thread - dont think of a powerful link as being wasted if it doesnt have your anchor in it - thats certainly a mistake I used to make - think of every link as powerful regardless of whether its direct match, partial, brand, URL etc. That way, its not so hard building up that 99% of links that are not targeting a specific keyword.
