I dont have g ads, I am just researching and considering getting into it.
I am just wondering if it is against the TOS to make your site's content extremely similar to the ads so people think the ads are part of your site and click on them. I have seen a lot of sites do this.
just a more general question, how do you deceive people into clicking your ads?

If they see you make your sites content look just like the ads you will get banned before you know it. You're not supposed to deceive anyone into clicking your ads at all.

Yeah like the other guys said don't deceive people into clicking your ads because that will get you banned.

Just focus on a good site with a high CTR theme. That's about the most you can do to get more clicks. Good luck with Adsense :)

    I don't agree.
They are serving ads to get conversions for the advertisers. I see no reason why they should ban an account for making the
content similar to the ads .

Personally,i am running a site that uses adsense , the ad links and the page links look the same and it has been bringing in good conversions daily.

Similar ads fonts just beside links is not a ToS problem at this time and is still OK.
G made us to take off the image beside adsense ads a few years back though, so they check the best use. But there are plenty of deceiving way to make people clicking on your ads without asking them. I do that since 2004 without any problem. I go even further withthe highest CPC but I can't discuss this here. You just have to know what you're doing.
Those who'll tell you you will banned usually have no idea how to proceed.

I completely agree with you, since if you deceive them into clicking the ad, making them think it's part of your website is irrelevant, since they clicked it because they are genuinely interested in what they are clicking.

Although like the guys said above, it may lead to you getting banned eventually.

It IS against Google's TOS to attempt to deceive/force/expressly encourage any person to click on your AdSense ads...

However, as with all things, there are those that get away with some clever manipulation, and those that crash and burn. Remember, that the guidelines are fairly subjective in some areas, and it's often down to one Google employee's perception.

Themes that make Ads look like normal navigation are borderline. Many people use them successfully, but I wouldn't be surprised if Google stop that at some point.

And the argument that Google make money from getting more clicks is irrelevant; they make the majority of their money from large corporates and these guys are constantly lobbying to get the best for their money and so don't want crappy clicks. Google HAS to keep quality guidelines in place or suffer a major backlash from corporates.
