How do you deal with phone verification?

I've got everything cracked about signing up to affiliate companies for my blackhat endevours, apart from the phone verification. I'm based in the UK and normally I'd just sign up to k7 and give them that number, but if I actually gotta talk to them then that just won't do. What do you guys normally do to combat this? Would it be worth picking up a cheap mobile sim card and activating it so I can speak to them on that?
