I live in the usa. I want to buy .de .cn domain names, but it says you have to be residing in that country to buy them. Therefore, how do you buy them without having your domain away taken away from you for not living in that country? Because, there has to be a way to get them legally even if it is to sell them within a few months. So if anyone knows and have done this before, please let me know how do you carry this out!

    Thanks in advance!

I would be careful with .cn names right now. I believe CNNIC just changed the status on .cn registrations. http://domainnamewire.com/2010/01/05/report-china-halts-overseas-registrars-from-registering-cn-domains/ I think that you need a business license to register a .cn now. However I know that 101domain.com offered a residency proxy for the IDN.eu launch last month. 101domain.com or another register I am sure will come up with some type of residency proxy for .cn domains in the future. hopefully the cnnic thing is a very tempory thing.

There are only a few countries which don't let you buy their country domains because the have their law which says that. the rest you can buy from any domain registrars

You can get almost all country local contacts. Many people like me provide this service.
Many registrars also include local contact.

I agree with glaxxon. Try to check if you have local contact with the country where you want to purchase the domain.
