You can use fake Facebook accounts to spam links to groups or your posts to other groups to increase interactions.
 
I’ve noticed the same with reach being inconsistent. What helps is focusing on quality interactions rather than volume- like posting content that invites comments or shares. Also, timing and consistency can make a big difference.
