I have no problems in my last projects getting my Amazon niche websites to rank in the top 3 but on two of my projects I just can't manage to beat the Authority websites that have 1 page saying "Best....2016" with just 1500 words.

They have 0 backlinks to the page itself, of course 1-2k+ to the main domain. Pretty poor on page SEO for the article itself and yet they rank 1.

Are they beatable by a NEW amazon niche website or does it simply cost to much effort? And how would you do it? Because the normal way sure isn't working for me! Would love some input guys.

I think it's possible, it's just a more long term play. There is a website that is ranking #2 for a valuable term, and #1 is a shitty scam product on amazon (it's in the answer box too). But it's only somewhat related to the topic. It really pisses me off because the content I am trying to rank is like 6000 words of gold.

Just outdo them in any other way you can. Better titles, better content, etc etc. If you're in the top 3, an attention grabbing title can pull more traffic than you are getting from something that's outranking you but may be "boring".

    Algo? Let's play with you.
    Yup, easily.
Just make sure your onpage is good and your anchor text optimized for the kw.

Thats the problem tho, I have better titles, content, on page SEO and got around 90 backlinks directly to the root which is also the main keyword page.

Yet im getting outranked by a authority domain with just another page, an image slider with 3 lines of text per image and 1 backlink directly to that page, 1.5k to the root domain itself.

Pretty much clueless here, first time i actually reached a stumble point in an amazon niche web. Guess I analyzed it wrong, entire top 10 were filled with weak websites except this one, and since it was just a "page" with no links at all i assumed i'd waltz over it eventually.

But now im starting to think to just...drop it and move on (although this went a burn website at all!)

Im gonna try playing around with anchor text % in the next few weeks ye, but are you saying that only this can already rank to 1 despite not gaining extra backlinks (while already having nearly 100 quality backlinks more)?

Or do you have other tips that i shouldd focus on?

It is going to take you a while to outrank an authority site. They enjoy better trust.

I'm experiencing the similar thing as you:

I'm #2 right now and an authority site is #1. What I can say is : it's possible to outrank them.
The downside is the COST to do that ! It all comes down to the Domain Authority.
I'll have to create satellite pages (buffer pages) and point link to them instead of pointing
mainly to 1 or 2 money pages.

It's going to increase my DA.

So bottom line: it all depends on how long you're willing to wait and spend.

It's certainly possible to outrank them, but I would make sure that they dont have hidden PBNs ranking them, and if they do, check them out to make sure you can get better links for your domain. If you can match that, you'll do fine with a new site.
