I amassed a list of casino sites that buy Pbn links.
None of the sites get any traffic as per Semrush nor do they rank for a single keyword.

How are they generating revenue then? ( I keep hearing casino is a niche with insane earnings quite often)

What do they buy so many backlinks for if they are not aiming for organic rankings and traffic?

Am I missing something?

Casino niche is indeed a niche of insane profits. Revenue share can easily be 60% with no negative carryover. There are several large affiliate companies operating in this niche.

Having some solid knowledge on how this industry operates here are some options:
1. External agency has been hired by someone with a lot of money to improve SEO and they are going for backlinks
2. Common corporate situation, where the operations (link builders) don't really care about the bottom line, but of their own success metric: DR and amount of backlinks built.
3. Also corporate situation, but spending all of the budget (for large products, backlink budget can be >50 000 USD per month), because otherwise it's seen as you did not use all the budget which: A. Means you didn't reach monthly goal and B: Leaves you with reduced budget because "I guess you don't need that much money then"

I've seen many times where especially point 3 is so true. Known some great link builders who are very frustrated to explain to their corporate bosses that link building is not a fixed monthly thing and are just "fuck it" and spending all the budget, cause it's not their money anyways.

Casino niche is highly competitive, they get more backlinks to retain their keyword ranking and that would earn them more business. however their SEO cost is nothing compared to what they can earn in a day or week

- this is one example only my brother.. where they have pbns that rank and generate lots of traffic..
some buy pbns for 30.000 usd
some buy pbns for 40.000 usd
and not only one purchase, but several pbns per month.. i know because im working in this industry
and, some know how to use pbn, some doesnt, they just have the money

It's possible that these casino sites are generating revenue through means other than organic search traffic. Some potential sources of revenue for casino websites could include:

  • Affiliate marketing

  • Direct traffic

  • Non-organic search engine traffic. For example, they may be paying for ads through search engine advertising programs like Google Ads.

Regarding your second question, it's possible that these casino sites are buying PBN links for reasons other than improving organic search rankings. Some reasons why a site might buy PBN links include

  • Manipulating search engine algorithms: for using PBN links to manipulate search engine rankings, some site owners may still attempt to use this technique to improve their rankings. However, this is a strategy can result in Improving Metrics not Traffic. Better You can Try Real Guest Post For Creating Backlinks ( Traffic Sites) That might Improve the Traffic for Your Site.

  • Improving domain authority

Even if a site doesn't rank for keywords or show significant traffic via online tools, it doesn't mean there isn't any traffic. A lot of casino site traffic comes through direct advertising, affiliate marketing, or other non-organic means that might not be accurately captured by these tools.

Also buying backlinks can have several purposes, even when not aiming for organic rankings. Backlinks can help boost the authority of a site and additionally, the goal might still be to improve organic rankings over time, even if it's not an immediate focus.

I'm the CMO of a casino, and I own some affiliate sites in the casino industry as well.
A bit thing here is that the traffic estimates on casino keywords are usually always far off. One of my sites was saying 200 traffic in ahrefs, while pulling around 5k a month. The traffic value estimate from ahrefs was like $12. In reality, the site generated around $50k that month.

With that being said, I have seen a lot of shit sites out there. It surprises me they can turn a profit. Through my CMO work, I have noticed quite a few sites faking stats and boosting DR etc. to get large upfront fees from casinos.

That's right! They earn more than 4x what they spend on SEO.

Casino/Gambling niche is interesting. Even if tools such as Semrush or Ahrefs show 0 organic traffic that doesn't really matter. Casino websites spend A LOT on direct advertising, be it Live streams, banner ads or popups, you name it!

Yeah but of the 100+ casino sites I'm keeping a tab of rank for almost no keywords as per Semrush data and have no organic rankings.
So what's the point of buying thousands of pbn backlinks ?
If they're gonna resort to paid traffic in the end what's the point of buying links even?

Ah this makes more sense. SEO tools give highly inaccurate stats for blackhat niches so that maybe the case.
Thanks

it all depends on how they build links to their specific pages instead of the homepage

Because casino site owners mostly use redirection method to get rankings and traffic its not stable all the time by frequent changes they got the results

PBN budget is way less than White hat SEO techniques. So they all want just a temporary hype to their websites to lure more clients. thats all

Probably affiliate traffic because of the insane commission

You're also a media buyer of the casino?
