Anything drastic or is that potentially a natural occurrence ?

Getting ready to change SEO providers so wondering if there are any precautions to take such as waiting a few weeks to add more links or something.

I also have some solid editorial links so I'm not worried really.

    Thanks

It really depends on a lot of factors. I've already lost a good percentage of my backlinks in one of my sites due to deindexing and dropping sites but it still it's in the same exact position for months. Every case it's different so there is no definitive answer. I guess the age of the site and the trust that G sees in your site affects the results a lot.

Losing links is a natural occurence, especially if you'd already build quite a backlink profile. If you aren't already, you should track which links you are losing exactly, to better analyze your situation. If they were "bad" backlinks, it might even do you some good.

What percentage of your overall links to your site do those 20-30 represent? Is it half, then yeah be prepared to replace them. Is it 1-2% and not any greater authority links than most of the remaining, then I wouldn't worry to much.

It may be around half, some of the top authority links aren't from the ones that will be removed though. Editorial and referral links from a few companies will also stay. The plan is to rebuild anyway though so a little drop is ok.

You can just blast some HQ PBNs to your site (20-30 Posts) and you'll be OK!

As long as you are planning on substituting them with new links, I wouldn't sweat it.

link loss usually = ranking loss, but it shouldn't be drastic.

OP If it's half of your overall backlinks, usually your rankings will drop. So you should focus on constantly adding quality backlinks to maintain your ranking and link velocity.
