    After a lot of searching using the big G and tons of scanning and searching right here in BHW I'm going to have to ask a question that will make me appear to be a total n00b, but hey, learning is more important than my rep on here :)

    On almost all GSA SER threads folk talk about setting the percentage for exact match keywords. This doesn't appear to be a setting in GSA, so how do you do it? Do you simply set the other keyword percentages higher to 'push down' the number of times your primary keywords are used to create links? Here's rough idea of the percentages I'm currently tinkering with (I'm still at an embryonic experimental stage).

    Primary Keywords - shoelace collecting,collecting old shoelaces,bootlaces collection,fun shoelaces,valuable shoelaces,shoelaces
    Partial match anchor text - I'm not currently using this, should I be?
    Secondary anchor text (28%) - {best|funniest|best reviewed|marvellous|funkiest|best loved|cheap|cheapest} {shoelace collecting|old shoelaces|bootlaces collection|fun shoelaces|valuable shoelaces|shoelaces}
    Branding anchor text (10%) - {shoelace weirdo|Shoelace Weirdo|Shoelace WEIRDO}
    LSI anchor text - Not currently using, still trying to get my head around how to 'get' the keywords I need to put in here)
    Domain as anchor text 11%
    Use citation 6%
    Anchor text variations 20%
    Try to use domain / generic anchor with main anchor - Checked (this is a default setting, I'm yet to get my head around what it means).

    So where / who do I restrict the use of the exact match keywords to a nice low percentage like 10%?

    I think you understand already. The percentage of anchor text (based on main keyword) used is the percentage left over after you have selected the percentages for the other anchor text options you use.

    e.g

    So if you have:

    50% Domain as anchor text
    10% Secondary
    10% Partial match
    10% Branding
    10% LSI

    That would leave you with 10% being whatever keywords you have put in the Anchor Text (based on main keyword) box.

    If you have 10 keywords in that box, and one of them is your exact match anchor, then you would be making 1% exact match anchor links.

    As Beastman explained, the settings starts at 100%, and goes down by the numbers you put in other settings for secondary, branding, LSI etc.
