How do i set Bing and Yahoo to detect my site is for the U.K version of the search engine ?

i have a webmaster account for both and my webspace is uk based but my domain name is a dotC0M

in google you can easily set the option for country , i rank very highly on yahoo , but as soon as i hit search uk only , my site is page 5 on average

i have set the geo location to the uk

The only way is Google Webmaster Tools. Log in and go to "Site configuration" Then it will say Target Area and select UK.

Webmaster tools won't help for Bing and Yahoo.

I've had this a few times and to rectify it I just targetted lots of .CO.UK backlinks for a few month along with some anchors like "keyword UK".

    Also make sure:

Your server is in the UK
Your site has a UK about page and also include this in the footer.

ah thank you for the advice , i use wordpress , yes my webspace is in the uk , instead of using the footer space can i put it in my f.a.q's menu subpage ?

what would a uk about page look like ? is it just general blurb about who what and where based in the uk ?

i do have UK in my meta title and description....should it be U.K instead of my current UK ?

In my experience, UK works better than U.K., although you won't be penalised for putitng both in meta keywords.

Where you'd build a link with normal anchor text "keyword" do 50% with "keyword UK"

Register a bing and yahoo local page.
