How do I remove Ghost Images?

    My labtop here is a Dell Latitude D530, and I got it through my college, and by default has a Ghost Image that takes up 114GB of space leaving 74GB only visable period. So I was wondering how do I clear it out and claim it? I tried using Ubuntu's (a Linux distribution) partition editor to find and clear it but it doesn't even see the 114GB, It seems this symantic ghost image lives up to its name. So anyone know of any free software to use to remove this so I can reclaim the 114GB?
