I made the decision to buy and flip logo/banner designs just to aid in my income while I am also working on my eCom site.

My only question is when I make an ad and someone wants to pay me for a design, what do you use to accept payment from them? Paypal? If so, how would you approach the buyer in actually giving you the payment while you "work" on the design?

Anyone familiar with this please help me out! Thank you.

PayPal would be the easiest option if you can get it. You can also send invoices to people through PayPal too so this could work for you.

you can take a small amount i the beginning so that you know that they're serious and then when you finish the work show them a preview (put your logo all over the design and lower the opacity) and tell them to pay the rest of the money to send the final work and once the send the payment send them the work.
that how i work and its working out well

Paypal. You can send invoices for your dollar amount easy, on a website, or on email.
Have them sign a contract before work starts (include payment terms, amount of revisions, things relevant to your area of work). 50% down payment to get started, 50% upon delivery. If you're paranoid about them stealing your work without paying, there's a few solutions. (1) Present them with low-resolution content or (2) Place watermark over the logo until they pay their invoice in full. You can likely find more pertinent info on freelance designer blogs.
