My first Micro Niche Site was one i made after ordering a Cyberzilla keyword, and along with the main keyword, he provided me with loads of long tail keywords, but:

I have added an article about the main keyword to the site, and one about a long-tail-keyword, and I have been building backlinks to http://www.mywebsite.com, but for my main keyword, http://www.mywebsite.com/long-tail-keyword is ranking above it, and it doesnt even have the same keywords in it

My question is, how do i make it so that when the visitor clicks on my site, they see the 'main keyword' article, then down the side, they have the long-tail keyword articles (I will also rank them for their own traffic) ??? Do i just keep building links to my main site and wait?

    Thanks

Here is what I would do:

    1) Stop building links to your long tail posts / pages. (for time being)
    2) Keep building links to your homepage with your main keyword and lsi related.

    EG:
    home page
    home pages
    etc

    3) Link your long tail pages to your homepage with your homepage anchor / keyword.

    EG:

    Homepage keyword: home page
Innerpage / longtail keyword: not the home page

On my inner page which has my long tail keywords on it, i would be placing my homepage keyword in the article a couple of times and then anchoring / linking it back to my homepage. If your linking back to your homepage from all of your other pages, this tells Google that your homepage is the most important page and will rank it accordingly. (thats the plan anyway)

Let me know how you go...

    Cheers,

    wb

Make the site description more relevant if possible in the header of the htnl code.

    E.G
    Your niche (h1 tag)
your niche offers the best in blah blah..... as a description.

I do it all the time for sites with no keywords in the url.
If the sites newish this is normal and the main page will take over where the inner page is showing.
Won't do any harm to blast the main url solely for a while with your main keyword.

This can happen if you blast too many keywords on a newer site as well.

You rank your main page by ranking your inner pages first.

I would use the main keyword as a sticky post and have that on the homepage.

Build links with your targeted anchor text to your main page. Wait a month or so.
