I recently purchased a travel blog starter site with a nice domain and .net
I'm brand new to this and was looking for ways to monetize the site. When there are some obvious options like AdSense, how do I find someone to make content and how do I market a travel blog? If anyone has any ideas or can help out, it would be much appreciated.

Since the site is brand new, you first need to focus on stabilizing it. Publish high quality relevant articles regularly and share them on all the social media platforms available. It will generate some kind of traffic if its of good standard.

Make sure you are optimizing the site properly, check both on & off page. Give it some time and then start building quality backlinks from guest posts and other niche relevant techniques to get organic traffic. Once you feel it is ready, start applying all the tricks available to monetize it. There are tons of guides available here in BHW on how to monetize a blog and drive traffic.

    Good Luck!

Get it touch with travel agencies and sell them a banner spot on your website.

I believe you need to get traffic to the blog to monetize. Monetizing is the last of the priorities when building a website/blog. Ensure quality content and traffic then everthing else falls onto its place.

Traffic, traffic, traffic. Without it it had no value and you cannot monetize it. Travel niche is not easy, I am in it for a couple of years already.

Booking.com and Skyscanner both have an affiliate program, as far as I'm aware both provide a search widget which should get some commission if you have decent traffic.
