Well, don't really know if this is the right thread for this but i own an online radio for the locals but never took it serious cos i had too much on my hand at that time but still it gets loads of listeners, cos it plays 24 hours oldies, blues and ancient music that attract the older community, so people prefer listening to it than spinning their vinyl tapes, cassettes etc.. now am thinking of rebranding and also building a mobile app for it (targeting the youth also) and investing into promotion (fb, tw, ig)
but before i do that i want to know if its worth it
    Kindly share your thoughts on...
How do i promote an online radio to a targeted tribe in diaspora? FB Ads i guess...
How to monetize it? Adsense? CPA?

if you are local then get companies to sponsor, sell ad slots etc. Assuming you have a website then sell ad slots on there, have a blog and sponsored posts

Do old school stuff. Exactly how it was done before internet : promote local business, sell shoutouts and greetings. Make a relevant site that has VERY SHORT, easy to hear, hard to mistype domain name, you need it super easy to remember. Nobody transcribes web address into browser anymore, unless u promise exactly what they need.

Example : while playing your music, remind folks listening where they can see name of currently played song, and playlist for current day.

Yeah like the guys said it before me, just promote local businesses, get sponsors, get in touch with local musicians. It isn't a bad idea to go oldschool with its marketing as well: if it's for the older community buy newspaper ads (they still read them) and put up posters, stickers etc in the city. I'll post a tricky case study on that later if I have time, the point is these old methods still work when done properly.

I usually listen to online radio stations while doing other stuff and I get back to the site when I hear a song that I really like and that I want to know the title of. What you could do is make a list of the last 10 songs you played and, for each song, link to the album the song is from using an affiliate link. Amazon might work for that.

Promote your online radio assets to your audience on-air and off-air. and Use a robust podcast engine to cut up, catalog and distribute short-form audio.

You can find local business to promote, sponsors, monetize using adsense and other sources and earn revenue out of it, of course you would need to drive traffic and use social media tools to increase profit with your ads.
