If I use a 301 redirect how can I make my website the referring url?
I'm interested in this too.. Does a redirect 301 or 302 show the www.whereever.com that is redirected as the referrer or does the redirected domain send the referrer that it received to the destination site?
I ran some tests and I just answered my question on a 302 so I'd assume a 301 is the same. It does pass the original referrer to the destination site.
Example; I'm on thissite.com and click on a link that points to thatsite.com. Now, thatsite.com is 302 redirected to anothersite.com. The referrer that anothersite.com sees is, thissite.com.
Now the question is, how to redirect to anothersite.com but show the referrer as thatsite.com? Going to try the search feature but, if anyone can answer it in the mean time, cool.
