    Code:
    <div style="float:left; padding:5px; width:0px;">
    IMG URL
    </div>
    Change the width to the image width.

    This will float the image left and text will go to the right of it.

    Are you using Wordpress? When you upload your image (using Wordpress's image upload), you will have an option of what alignment to use--left, right, and center. Pick whatever alignment you want and your theme should have the code to style it how you want. Although the previous answer is a solution, adding in-line CSS is a huge nono.

    Also, the reason it is one long code is because you're just putting in the URL I'm guessing. It has to be something like
    Code:
    <img class="alignleft" src="yourURL" />
