Ok, so I'm trying CPA + YT, and I'm trying to see if this is a good, easy keyword to rank. It has 5,400 global monthly searches, but however it has about 90,000 results on Google. Is this a good/easy keyword to rank? If not can you please tell me what the results number should be if I want to rank an easier keyword. Since I'm a beginner I want to start out small.

    Thank you

Everything depends on your competition in my opinion.

You could have a keyword that has a trillion results, like 'the' or some shit, and it could be easy to rank cause no one cares about it.

Or you could have a keyword with 10 results and all those 10 guys have a billion niche related high quality links each and are super authorities in the niche. You'll always be number 11.

I suggest you to try traffic travis free version which will be a very good tool to find out if any keyword is easy to rank or not. It will give you results based on page and off page SEO optimization factors and competition.

The Google Keyword Tool says the competition is "low" does that mean anything? Or is Google just stupid?

When the google keyword tool shows you competition, it is not talking about the competition to rank, it is advertiser competition for that keyword. So if it says high competition it just mean that a lot of people are bidding on that particular keyword to come up in paid search campaigns.

Try to analyse your own site (if already live) and compare it with the current first page ranking sites. Excellent tools are Moz and MarketSamurai SEO Competition. However there are other tools that may help you. Most important factors are on page optimization and off-page (links) referring domains, keyword variety and trust and citation flow.

Apart from Traffic Travis you can use Market Samurai too to get more than 1 opinions.
Just google it and download the trial it's fully functional for some days ;)
