    Hello,

I've been researching niches that come to mind and have found quite a few spaces that I'd like to give a go. I've been reading a few good posts here about Siloing and properly structuring a site.

One issue I'm having in the planning stage is whether my sites are too small or too big. Say for instance my niche is zoo animals - just as an example.

A site about every kind of zoo animal and all the possible information is too much.

So would I use a general kind of domain (not to prematurely limit the scope of my site - as I could fill out a silo, get a monetization strategy then apply this to multiple animals), and create a silo for each animal.

Or am I not close at all?

I read this post by BassTrackerBoats - https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/w...silo-structure-for-long-term-rankings.766748/

    Yet I'm still slightly confused.

Thanks for making it this far

You are overthinking it with the silo and structuring. Size of the website depends on how wide niche you pick. If you were to pick "animals", your site would be huge. If you go narrower and pick "cat like animals", it would get narrower again. If you pick to write about tigers only, then again, even narrower. With your sites you want to target every keyword within the particular niche to get as much traffic as possible. There's nothing like "too big" site. So first, pick the niche level and take the structuring from there.

Okay that makes sense. So when I'm scoping out a niche I should base it's scope on my budget and SEO ability. Then find keywords that fit into my sites purpose in order to drive traffic as well as provide value via my content
