I clicked "summary" within the writing settings of WP

Blog pages show at most [10]

Syndication feeds show the most recent [10]

I've been writing up a few dozen articles & its
begining to look messy - help will be appreciated

In most cases, you will have to edit the home.php or main index.php file. Enter there and modify the_content() with the_excerpt().

    That`s all

You can use the more tag in your post. You can enter it wherever you like in the post, and the reader will have to click on the link to read more.

Here is a link for more info on how to use it:

    Code:

pretty sure you go to settings, and one of the options is to truncate to a certain number of letters.

I usually just go to my WP dashboard and go to the appropriate places to make changes in preferences. However, some of the more advanced methods shown above do work.
